The institute is managed by one of the highly reputed and largest educational trust Shrama Sadhana Bombay trust from the very inception (in the year 1972). SSBT’s College of Engineering and Technology is one of  the institutes run by it. COET is established in the year 1983 by its founder Chairman now Her Excellency Mrs. Pratibha  Patil, President of  India. Presently Shri R.D.Shekhawat, MLA, is the Managing trustee of the trust and Dr. D.R.Shekhawat an eminent educationist and scientist is the chairman of Governing  Body.

The institute has striven to develop itself as Engineering College with five years Accredited Programs,   approved by AICTE, New Delhi and permanently affiliated to North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon. The college has ISO 9001:2000 status. In meeting the challenges for excellence in education and research, COET has shaped its institution to the contemporary as well as future demands of need – oriented education. Today, COET has total strength of 2417 students studying for Bachelor of Engineering in Biotechnology, Civil, Chemical, Computer, Information Technology, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Programs  and studying for  Master of Engineering in Civil Engg. (Environmental Engg) , Computer Science and Engg., Electronics and Telecommunication Engg. (Digital Electronics), Mechanical Engg. (Machine Design) , and MBA (specialization in  HR, Finance , Marketing).

Twenty five acres of its campus  is beautifully located on one of the banks of river Girna on an elevated ground near Bambhori village. The magnificent main building of the institute have several class rooms, drawing halls, laboratories, seminar halls, library, computer center etc., the other buildings in the campus are two work shops , two hostels for boys ,  two hostels for girls , staff quarters, canteens, modified air conditioned food plaza and ATM. Campus is connected with 2Mbps leased line and broadband internet connection through OFC and Wi-Fi connectivity.

The campus has indoor and out door sports facilities and green belt. Few buildings are on the way to come up as per the ambitious expansion plan of the institute.
