About the Department

Established in the year 1994, the Department of Mechanical Engineering has excelled in its infrastructural facilities keeping pace with the latest development in technologies. The department was accredited by National Board of Accreditation in 2005 for three years and in 2008 for 5 years. The department, has qualified, experienced & dedicated faculty. The department has been producing excellent results with distinctions and university rank holders.

The primary focus of curriculum is to impart technical know-how to students, promote their problem-solving skills and innovation of new technologies. Department offers large number of optional courses for providing wide spectrum of options to the students to pursue their interest. Department has state of the art research facilities to support our academic programs and research.Department labs are equipped with latest equipment like Robotic Arm Trainer, CNC machines, Hardness testing machine, Metallurgical Microscope, & computerized AC testing rig & Ice plant.

The department has active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Undergraduate students are encouraged to undertake various research projects. All the laboratories of the department arerecognized research lab for PhD by Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari North Maharashtra University, Jalgaon.The students are getting successfully placed in Government & Reputed Private organizations like ONGC, ISRO, Bridgestone, TCS, Infosys, etc.

Achievements of the department:

  • In 2024, Dr. D. B. Sadaphale and Dr. D.C. Talele received patent for “IOT Based grass cutter” granted by Government of India with the patent number 424030-001.
  • In 2025, Dr. Krishna Shrivastava. received patent for “Autonomous AI- Controlled Mechanical Assembly Line Robot” granted by Government of India with the patent number 447007-001.
  • Mr. Om Bhalodkar, Secured 02 Gold Medals in B.E. Mechanical at University Exam May 2024.
  • Prof. N. K. Patil, secure second prize at the University Level Research Convention in AVISHKAR 2024-25.
  • Dr. A. R. Bhardwaj, received copyright registration for their original work titled 'Experimentation Investigation for Machining Behaviour of Aluminium Metal Matrix Composite' under the Indian Copyright Act.
  • Dr. Ajay R. Bhardwaj published chapter title "Investigation on Mechanical Properties of AA6061 Metal Matrix Composite Reinforced with Particulate Titanium Carbide (Tic)" in Springer Nature Journal on 22nd September 2024, Pp 315-330.
  • Dr. D. B. Sadaphale (Topper), Dr. P.M. Solanki and Dr A.R. Bhardwaj have successfully completed and qualified the NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) online certification courses.
  • Mohammad Khaif Shaikh Yusuf joined M. Tech programs at SVNIT Surat in the specialization of Manufacturing Engineering.
